Photographing for Stroll South of Broad and meeting Karen and Thomas Werth was truly a meaningful experience.
I met Karen and Thomas their home in South of Broad, and from there, we traveled to a place that holds special significance in their lives—a therapeutic riding ranch. It was there that I met Dolly, a 21-year-old retired thoroughbred racehorse, now living her peaceful “forever home.”
There was something incredibly moving about witnessing her gentle presence and the care surrounding her. The involvement in therapeutic riding reflects a deep commitment to empowering children and creating meaningful experiences for others.
Karen and Thomas have built a life centered on service, family, and connection—from raising three children to Thomas’s work as Director of Transplant Hepatology at Medical University of South Carolina
